Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is cyclic pain in the lower abdomen during a woman's menstrual cycle. Dysmenorrhea can be classified into 2 namely primary dysmenorrhea and secondary dysmenorrhea. (Elvira, 2018) Primary dysmenorrhea is menstrual pain and cramps that are concentrated in the lower abdomen. (Bakhtshirin, 2015) Dysmenorrhea can be controlled through pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy, one of the nonpharmacological therapies is the application of endorphine massage therapy. The benefit of this therapy is that it helps relax the body and reduce pain. The purpose of this study is that this therapy can improve the quality of life of patients and provide an effective alternative in the management of menstrual pain. This application method involves observation and interviews, with clients who are diagnosed with menstrual pain. Endorphine massage therapy is carried out for 3 consecutive days with a duration of 30 minutes each meeting. The results of the application of endorphine massage therapy indicate a change in the client, namely a decrease in pain intensity. Overall, these findings indicate that the application of endorphine massage therapy has a significant impact on reducing menstrual pain. This study looks at the potential benefits of non-pharmacological interventions in managing symptoms associated with dysmenorrhea. By reducing pain intensity, the suggestion from this study is that research can be used as a basis for implementing internal endorphine massage therapy as part of a holistic treatment approach in menstrual pain patients and so that it can become a reference for future researchers.
