Abstract

This research is motivated by the low activity of learning in class V students in the learning of mathematic, due to the lack of confidence of students. The purpose of this research was conducted to describe the process of learning using the learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) and increased activity of students mathematic learning. The method of this research is Classroom Action Research with cycle model developed by Kemmis and Taggart. The study was conducted as many as two cycles equipped with a data collecting observation sheets, test results, and field notes. Participants in this study were students of class V were 35 consisted of 18 male students and 17 female students. The results showed an increase in activity of learning mathematics through learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT). The research results on the pretest students acquire classical completeness 29% (10 people), increased in the first cycle obtain classical completeness 57% (20 people) and the second cycle obtain classical completeness 97% (34 people). The study concluded that the use of the learning model Numbered Heads Together (NHT) may enhance the activity of mathematics learning.
