Abstract

The aim of this research is to know students' generic skills appeared in laboratory activities on photosynthesis material. The study was conducted in Jamiyyatul Muta’allimi Junior High School. A descriptive analysis was chosed to be the method of this study. The subject of this study were 24 students in class VIII.B. Data were gathered through essay tests, observation report, and questionnaire. Through this study, students' generic skill were focused on 5 aspects. Results showed that students' generic skill through direct observation of 65,56% (adequate), indirect observation of 53,18% (very low), cause and effect of 49% (very low), modeling of 62,07% (adequate), and inference of 50,50% (very low). In general, students' generic skill of 56,10% and thus it is considered low.
