Abstract

The title of the research is Pertentangan Budaya Punjabi Dan Tamil Nadu Dalam Novel 2 states karya Chetan Bhagat. The aim of this research is to reveal the conflict between Punjabi culture and Tamil Nadu culture. The method applied in the research is descriptive Qualitative whichis described by Descriptive with sociology of literature. Data collection technique applied is reading and writing. This researche rapplies the theory of setting by Abram, Stanton, Nurgiantoro, and Sehivora front to analysis the background of social life and thetheory of conflict by Tarigan, Nurgiyantoro, Schirova, then thetheory of culture by Koentjaraningrat, and Bhargava then cultural conflict by Arifin, Soelaeman. From the research, it is found that there are some images of cultural conflict between Punjabi culture and Tamil Nadu culture; eating habit, community systems, customs, marriage system.
