Abstract

Pre-school children are children aged 3-6 years, where children experience an important period as a foundation or basis for their future development. Diarrhoea is a disease that still affects many developing countries, one of which is in Indonesia, morbility and mortality are still high, especially attacking infants and preschool children. The high incidence of diarrhoea in children is due to poor sanitation factors, lack of hygiene facilities, including personal hygiene. One way to prevent diarrhoea in children is by washing hands with soap, the purpose of the application of hand washing with the singing method is to determine the application of singing to the ability to wash hands in pre-school children. Data collection methods used in the preparation of this scientific paper by field observation, interviews, and literature studies by taking journals published in the period 2015 to 2022. The author conducted the application for 3 consecutive days with the results obtained after the 6-step hand washing with soap counselling, namely An was able to wash his hands properly. Cempaka kindergarten understands more about hand washing with soap by singing and practicing movements together, making it easier to apply the habit of washing hands after and before activities The author hopes that with the habit of washing hands properly, it can reduce the occurrence of recurrent diarrhoea
