Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a group of metabolic disorders characterized by high levels of sugar in the blood. Diabetes mellitus is a disease caused by relative and absolute insulin deficiency. The main symptoms of diabetes mellitus are polyuria (frequent urination), polydipsia (quick thirst), polyphagia (quick hunger), and decreased body weight. Diabetes Mellitus can be treated with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the management of diabetes mellitus wit09jkh non-pharmacological therapy is diabetic foot exercise. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of diabetic foot exercise in preventing injuries in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. This research method uses a case study strategy. Researchers applied diabetic foot exercises for 2 visits in one day for 3 consecutive days. This diabetic leg exercise is performed for 30-60 minutes. Observations were made using observation sheets. The results of the study obtained a score before being given an intervention of 3 and after being given an intervention a score of 1. This means that after the application of this diabetic foot exercise there is a reduced risk of injury in patients with type II diabetes mellitus. The results of this study are expected to increase knowledge, especially for the elderly who have type II diabetes mellitus so they can do diabetic foot exercises as a non-pharmacological alternative
