Abstract

Hypertension is an increase in systolic and diastolic blood pressure above 140/90 mmHg which if not treated early will lead to complications such as heart disease and stroke. Non-pharmacological treatment, audiovisual education applications for hypertension self-management, can be another alternative for controlling blood pressure. This application aims to determine the effect of applying audiovisual education to Mrs. N on hypertension self-management. The application of this education is carried out for 7 days which includes stress management, diet management, avoiding alcohol and cigarette smoke, regular exercise and a healthy lifestyle. The results of this application showed that there were significant changes before and after education with blood pressure from 150/90 mmHg to 120/90 mmHg. This shows that the application of audiovisual education has proven to be effective for hypertension self-management and blood pressure control.
