Abstract
Anxiety is a form of excessive worry, uneasy feeling, discomfort, fear accompanied by excessive and even continuous responses in everyday situations. Patients generally experience a racing heart, shortness of breath, sweating, and feeling tired, all of which are signs of anxiety. The purpose of this case study is to apply music therapy to schizophrenic patients as a means of reducing anxiety. The method of preparing this scientific paper is a case study with the provision of music therapy, data collection techniques are carried out by interviewing, observing, and studying literature / documentation. The instrument to determine the level of anxiety is the Hamilton Rating Scale For Anxiety (HARS). The results of the intervention showed a decrease in anxiety levels after being given music therapy from a score of 17 (mild anxiety) to 13 (no anxiety). The conclusion from the preparation of this scientific paper is that the provision of music therapy is effective in reducing anxiety experienced by schizophrenic patients. Music therapy can be an alternative for people with schizophrenia in reducing anxiety levels.
