Abstract

This research is motivated by the low factor of students' speaking skills, especially in presenting the procedure text. his study entitled "The Effect of Using Rouplace Learning Model on the Speech Ability to Present Procedure Text of Class VII Students of State Middle School 15 in Sukabumi City. His research is a quantitative research which aims to: 1) Know the speaking ability of class VII students of SMP Negeri 15 Kota Sukabumi in presenting the procedure text before using the Rouplace learning model. 2) Knowing the speaking ability of class VII students of SMP Negeri 15 Kota Sukabumi in presenting the procedure text after using the Rouplace learning model. 3) Knowing the effect of using the Rouplace learning model on the speaking ability of Grade VII students of SMP Negeri 15 Kota Sukabumi in presenting the procedure text. The research method used in this study is an experimental method with the design of "Pre Experimental Design" in the form of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design with a sample of 30 students. Each student conducted two tests, namely at the pretest and posttest. The research instrument used was in the form of test, observation and documentation. The hypothesis in this study is that the Rouplace learning model has an effect on speaking skills in presenting procedure texts for class VII students of State Junior High School 15 in Sukabumi City 2018/2019. The results showed that the average value obtained by students at the pretest was 68.25. and experienced an increase at posttest with an average value of 80.25. The results of the calculation of each test were carried out using the t test on the pretest and posttest to obtain the results of tcount 9.42> t table. These results indicate a significant difference between pretest and posttest. Based on the description above, it can be concluded that the use of the Rouplace learning model affects the students' speaking ability in presenting the procedure text.
