Abstract

This research was motivated by the low capacity of the mathematical reasoning geometrical properties of the V-3 grade students in learning mathematics, due to the lack of reasoning of students. The purpose of this study is to describe the implementation of the application of the learning model of Group Investigation (GI) and describe the results of mathematical reasoning capacity building saifat geometrical properties on learning Mathematics. This type of research diguakan namely Action Research (PTK) with the design of studies using models Kemmis and Mc. Taggar by 2 cycles. The research is fitted with a data collection of test results of mathematical reasoning abilities geometrical properties, the results of documentation and observation sheet. Participants in this study graders V-3 as many as 35 people consisting of 18 men and 17 women. The result of the pretest 11% (4 people), increased in the first cycle obtain classical completeness 47% (18 people) and the second cycle obtain classical completeness 94% (33 people). The study concluded that applying the Group Investigation model can improve the ability of mathematical reasoning in class V-3 in SDN Cipanengah CBM 2017/2018 school year.
