Abstract

This research aimed to figure out the effect of STAD Learning Model to improve 5 grade student’s concept understanding of solid figures. This research employed Quasi Experimental Design with Nonequivalent Control Group Design. The sample used in this research were the students of class V A and V B of SDN Lembursitu II Kota Sukabumi. The data were collected through tes which included pretest and posttest, observation, and documentation. The learning activity in experiment group was conveyed using STAD Learning Model, while in control group, the direct teaching and learning used. Both groups were given 3 times treatments with the same materials about solid figures. The result showed that the average score of experiment group was higher (69,25) compared with the average score of control group (56,83). Also, the result of T-Test pointed that the significant value was 0,000. It was lower than 0,05 which meant that there was significant difference between experiment and control groups. Thus, it could be concluded that the STAD Learning Model affect the 5 grade student’s concept understanding of solid figures.
