Abstract

This research aims to describe the increase of troubleshooting ability of mathematics learning in volume cube and beam material through the application of Contextual Teaching and Learning. The research methods used is a class action research with kemmis and taggart model cycles as much as two cycles. subject in this research is students high classas much as 32 consists of 17 female students and 15 male students. Research is equipped with data collection the form of an interview with the classroom teachers, observation sheet for teacher performance and activity students, test the from of pretest the first cycle and posttest, as well as fileld notes for cycle take place. The result of research on the application of contextual teaching and learning in learning mathematics material volume c ube and beam to increase the ability problem solving the classical obtain the percentage of 3% in the pra cycle, the first cycle of 38%, and cycle II by 84%. This study conclude that the application of Contextual Teaching and Learning can increase the ability troubleshooting in learning mathematics.
