Abstract

The aim of this research is to describe application step of learning model TGT and improve the numeracy skills 4th grade students of SDI Al-Azhar 7 Sukabumi. The preliminary observation result showed that the students possess low numeracy skills in mathematics learning. Therefore, attracts the researcher to do a research to improve the students numeracy skills. The method used in this research is Classroom Action Reseacrh (CAR) with Kemmis & Mc. Taggart model. The research consist two cycles. The participants in this study are the 4th grade students of SDI Al-Azhar 7 Sukabumi academic year 2017/2018 which the total number of 23 students, consisting of 11 male students and 12 female students. The technique of collecting and analysing the data are done by test, observation, interview, field notes and documentation. The result of cycle I showed that the students numeracy skills gain a completeness of 69%, this is a 26% improvement of the pretest with completeness of 43%. Cycle II showed that the students numeracy skills gain a completeness of 91%. The research concludes that the numeracy skills of grade IV SDI Al-Azhar 7 Sukabumi academic year 2017/2018 can be improved through the application of Teams Games Tournament (TGT) learning model.
