Abstract

The title of this research is “Terjemahan Iklan Berbahasa Inggris Di Sukabumi”. This research aims at explaining translation techniques and shift meaning of translation that used by translator for their ads. The research method is qualitative-descriptive. The technique of collecting data is content-analysis. The result of research found that there are 14 data of translation techniques consisting of adaptation technique, amplification technique, pure borrowing technique, naturalized borrowing technique, calque technique, creation discursive technique, correspondence common technique, literal technique, modulation technique, particularization technique, reduction technique and transposition technique (Molina and Albir, 2007). Meanwhile 5 data of shift meaning that found in this research consisting of shift of rank morpheme, shift of rank syntax, shift of word to phrase, shift of phrase to clause, shift of clause to sentence, shift of word category, shift of rank semantic word, shift of meaning because different culture point of view (Simatupang, 2007)
