Abstract

The road segment of Lingkar Selatan Sukabumi is the strategic track connecting city and regency. This road segment helps alot the sectoral movement in south area of Sukabumi, especially to the inter-city public transport. This research aimed to evaluate the pavement condition functionally and to compare its score based on two methods, Pavement Condition Index (PCI) and Surface Distress Index (SDI) that used as the basic to know the types of road maintenance handling. The evaluation of pavement condition obtained visually by conducting field survey used PCI and SDI methods with form of each methods that referred to ASTM D 6433 - 07. The result of this research showed that there were difference percentage scores of the road condition to the two methods. PCI method of left road segment showed 33.33% excellent, 20% good, 46.67% fair, 0% poor, 0% very poor, 0% serious and 0% failed while PCI method of right road segment showed 13.33% excellent, 33.33% fair, 26.67% good, 26.67% poor, 0% very poor and 0% serious. SDI method showed the percentage score of 22.22% good, 57.78% fair, 15.55% slightly poor, and 4.4% severely poor. The research of this pavement condition evaluation could give a description about the road condition in Sukabumi city and regency that could be used as data base to road infrastructure planning and its maintenance.
