Abstract

Erosion restraint in an open field surrounding the Citarik river (DAS) of Sukabumi regency has an important role in the land development plan, such as agricultural construction, and the agricultural equipment operation. Characteristics and capabilities of the soil, high precipitation, soil type, climate and how farmers treat the soil are indicators of erosion. Citarik River has 44 km of length which divided into 9 station points that will be the location of the research. The aim of this research is to analyze the magnitude of soil erosion occurring at each point of the research station in Citarik River using USLE method. Also to find the hazardous rate of erosion class at each point of the station along the Citarik River. Based on the research results of soil erosion analysis in Citarik River, all of the research station points have varied erosion rate values starting from mild to very severe, from 9 research location points the highest erosion rate was at station point 07 with 571.3 ton/ha/year, station point 29 with 630.2 ton/ha/year and station point 35 with 992.8 ton/ha/year and the lowest erosion rate was at station point 05 with 151.3 ton/ha/year and station point 09 with 81.0 ton/ha/year. Of the 9 research locations points, the Citarik River has erosion rate from class I to class V, the most severe class is at station 7 with a value of 639.3 ton/ha/year, station point 29 with avalue of 630.5 and station point 35 with a value of 992.8 ton/ha/ year which belongs to class V, station point 05 with a value 151.3 ton/ha/year and station 09 with a value of 81.0 ton/ha/year, which counted to class II.
