Abstract

This This study aims to compare the mathematical problem solving abilities of students using the SSCS learning model (Search, Solve, Create, and Share) with the Metaphor approach, the SSCS learning model (Search, Solve, Create, and Share) and the conventional learning model 5M Curriculum 2013 This study used the Quasi Experimental method with the Pre test-Posttest Control Group design. The population in this study were all students of class VIII SMPN 1 Cisaat, totaling 96 students. The sampling technique in this study was random sampling. The instrument used is in the form of three items on the ability to solve mathematical problems in the Flat Side Building material, observation sheets, and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the mathematical problem solving abilities of junior high school students who use the SSCS learning model (Search, Solve, Create, and Share) with a metaphorical approach are better than students who use the SSCS learning model (Search, Solve, Create, and Share. Problem solving abilities the mathematics of junior high school students who use the SSCS (Search, Solve, Create, and Share) learning model with a metaphorical approach is better than students who use the conventional 5M learning model of the 2013 curriculum.
