Abstract
This research was motivated by the low condition of students' reading ability. In this study using learning media, namely big book media. The following research aims to determine the use of big book media in improving the reading ability of grade II elementary school students, The findings of observation problems during learning activities in grade II SD Negeri Padaasih there are students who have difficulty reading. Classroom Action Research (PTK) using cycle II. Each cycle consists of planning, execution, observation and reflection. The subjects of the study were 49 grade II students of SD Negeri Padaasih, out of 27 male students and 22 female students. From the results of research, the use of big book media can improve the sonorous reading skills of grade 2 elementary school students. This increase is based on the results of a fairly satisfactory study, from the results of student reading observations in cycle I, which was 61%, increasing to 80.3% in cycle II. As a result, the use of big book media can help students improve students' reading skills and make it easier for students to understand the content of reading
