Abstract

ARI is an acute inflammation of the upper and lower respiratory tract caused by infection of microscopic bodies or bacteria, viruses, without or accompanied by lung parenchyma. diseases included in ARI such as Pneumonia, Influenza, and Respiratory Syncytial Virus (RSV) ARI is still the main cause of morbidity and mortality infectious diseases in the world. Aims to identify the effect of hot steam inhalation therapy with eucalyptus oil on airway clearance. Signs and symptoms of ARI vary a lot including fever, dizziness, malaise (weakness), anorexia (no appetite), vomitus (vomiting), photophobia (fear of light), anxiety, coughing, secretions, stridor (breathing sounds), dyspnea (breathing pain), suprasternal retraction (chest pull ), hypoxia (lack of oxygen), and can progress to respiratory failure if not getting help and resulting in death, Management in patients with Acute Respiratory Infections in addition to pharmacology can also be done with non-pharmacology such as eucalyptus steam therapy (Eucalyptus). In the implementation of this application using case studies. This implementation is carried out 2 times in 1 day for 3 consecutive days. This inhalation therapy is carried out for 10-15 minutes. The results obtained after doing eucalyptus oil inhalation therapy there is a frequency of breathing in toddlers to 20x / minute, ronchi breathing sounds change to vesicular, there is no secret buildup and does not use breathing muscles. It can be concluded that the provision of eucalyptus oil therapy is effective against airway disorders in the working area of the Parungkuda Health Center.
