Abstract

Balance can be interpreted as the ability to control the body's center of mass or center of gravity to a point or plane of support, as well as the ability to stand upright with both feet important in a person and as a precursor for the initiation of other activities or daily activities. There are two types of balance, namely static balance and dynamic balance. Static balance maintains a position that doesn't move or change, whereas dynamic balance involves controlling the body as it moves through space. Balance disorders are influenced by changes that occur in the neurological or central nervous system, one form of balance disorder is in the vestibular system or in vertigo patients, where a person's sense of self rotates in his actions or everything around him rotates rapidly. This sensation creates a feeling of imbalance when walking and standing. In balance disorders that can be corrected with non-pharmacological treatment is the Brandt Daroff exercise. The purpose of applying this Brandt Darof exercise is to improve balance so that patients can return to their activities and reduce vertigo symptoms. This research method uses the case status method. The subjects used were 1 (one) person with balance disorders or with complaints of spinning dizziness. Data collection uses assessment and intervention. The results of the application show that after doing the Brandt Daroff exercises for 3 days 3 times a day, the conclusion is that the application of the Brandt Daroff exercises can improve balance and the client can return to activities.
