Abstract

This research purpose is to acknowledge any means and types of slang that found in Resident Evil video game series. The research method employed in this study is descriptive qualitative method. The data were collected through listen and taking note method. The data were taken from Resident Evil video game series that containing slangs. Furthermore, in presenting the analysis, the data is explained descriptively in words, and supported by code for numbering. The finding presented that there are six slangs meanings (encore, bleeding heart, tub a’lard’s, Carlos-less, hero shot, playing with a full deck.), and four slangs types in Resident Evil video game series, that is homonym, polysemy, metaphor, euphemism. There are three slangs phrase occur into homonym (guinea pig, screwed on and watch your six), three slangs words that accur into polysemy (mow, ballsy, dan waltz), three slangs idioms occur into metaphor (cry me a river, breathing down my neck, and barking up the wrong tree), and three slangs word that occur into eupheism (kamikaze, jarhead, dan dead weight)
