Abstract

This research is entitled Tindakan Kekerasan dalam Novel The Call Of The Wild karya Jack London. This research aims to describe the acts of violence and the impact of violence in The Call of the Wild novel by Jack London. The research method is descriptive qualitative. The approach applied is literary sociology. This research uses theory of violence by Hendrarti and Herudjati (2008) and Sherly dkk (2004) to explain kind of the acts of violence and the impacts of violence. The finding shows are found two types of acts of violence namely acts of physical violence and verbal acts of violence. Acts of physical violence include strangulation, beating, binding, neglect and shooting. Verbal acts of violence include harassment and threats. The impact of these acts of violence is to become disabled, damage to the body, experience fear and emotions.
