Abstract
This study is entitled The Relation between Illustration and Meanings in Collection of Poetry of The Sun and Her Flowers: Blooming By Rupi Kaur. This study aims to describe the description and meaning that contained in the collection of poems in The Sun and Her Flowers: Blooming. The method used in this research is descriptive method with an expressive approach. The data collected technique applied is Baca dan Catat based on Bungin’s theory (2003). This research uses illustration theory from Barthes (1964), narrative theory from Abrams (2009), the theory of meanings from Leech (1981), and denotative and connotative meanings of Keats (1819). From the results of this study found denotative and connotative meanings contained in each poem, researchers also found a connection between illustrations and poetry lines, also revealed the message about self-discovery that Kaur wanted to convey through his illustrations and poems.
