Abstract

The title of this research is “Perilaku Seks Menyimpang Tokoh dalam novel The Upside of Unrequited Karya Becky Albertalli”. The aims of this research are to describe factors that influence the occurrence the deviant sex behavior of the characters and describe how deviant sexual behavior of the characters in The Upside of Unrequited’s novel. This research uses the theory of the character from Abrams, Bennet and Royle, and Aminudin. The theory of the characterization is from Nurgiantoro and Waluyo. The theory of behavior is from Skinner, Miller and Dolard. The theory of sexuality is from Eagleton, and Kartono. The theory of the deviant sexual behavior is from Suyatno, and Kartono. The theory of lesbian is from Soetjiningsih, Soekanto, Troiden, Cass and D’Augelli, and Siker. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with sociology of literature approach. The result of this research found some description of deviant sex behavior of the characters such as Coming out, Relationship, and Raise Children, and factors that influence the occurrence of deviant sex behavior of the characters.
