Abstract

Demand for baster goldfish reaches 6 million fish/week. Baster Goldfish have a short cultivation process that is only 2 weeks. Factors that influence the success of the baster (Carassius auratus) cultivation are parental management and spawning techniques. Semi-natural reproduction in baster goldfish (Carassius auratus) requires time in each process, especially during stripping on the female. This study aims to assess the fertilization rate (FR) of baster goldfish (Carassius auratus) at different egg cell storage time. This study consisted of three level of treatments, namely direct (sperm and egg cells are mixing at 0 minutes), 10 minutes, and 20 minutes after egg cell collected. The study was conducted in March to April 2019 at the Experimental Pond of Aquaculture Study Program that collaboration with Boss Baster in Muara Dua Village, Kadudampit District, Sukabumi Regency. The results of the study showed that direct mixing has the best FR that were equal to 88.50% and has a significant different with others (P<0,05). FR at 10 and 20 minutes level, shows a value of 75.33% and 73.62%.
