Abstract

The background of this research is the low ability to listen the story of students in class II on Indonesian language learning, due to the lack of student concentration when listening to the story. The purpose of this study is to describe the application of puppets media when telling stories in the Indonesian language. The type of research used is Classroom Action Research (PTK), research design using model kemmis and Taggart as much as 2 cycles. The data collection in this study is a test, observations and field notes as well as documentation. Participants in this study all students of class II that amounts to 29 students consisting of 16 male students and 13 female students. The result of the research on the pretest of students get the classical completeness including the category of less (8 students), in the first cycle there is an increase of classical completeness including the category of enough (16 students) and in cycle II there is an increase of classical completeness is very good category (26 students). The result of this research is concluded that implement the puppet media in Indonesian learning can improve the ability of listening to the students' story in class II at SDN Tunas Harapan Warungkiara district of academic year 2017/2018.
