Abstract
Background of this research was the low of students learning activity at grade III SDN 1 Cikembar. The research aim to describe planning, implementation cooperative type STAD learning model in improving student learning activity on science subjects, and improvement student learning activity on science subjects with applying cooperative type STAD learning model. Design of this research was class action research is carried out in two cycles witch there are two meeting in each cycle. The subject of the research was student grade III A wich numbered 32 students consisted 14 male and 18 female. Procedure of the research are planning, action, observation, and reflection. Data collection techniques that used are observation, interviews, questionnaires, tests, field notes, and documentation. The research method applied quantitative and qualitative. Based on resurt of research conducted, planning this research by applying steps cooperative type STAD learning modelin every learning. Implementation of research, student learning activity in the first cycle was obtained average value of 65,2% with active category while the second cycle obtained average value of 80,3% with active category, and for teacher activities in the first cycle was obtained average value of 76,4% with good category and the second cycle obtained average value of 81,2% with a very good category. There is increase student lerning activity of pre-cycle, cycle II and cycle II by percentage precycle 33,1%, 65,2% of cycle I, 80,3% of cycle II. The result of research is concluded that applying cooperative learning type STAD can improved student learning activity in science subjects at grade III A SDN 1 Cikembar.
