Abstract

This research was conducted to describe the application of Scramble method in thematic learning to improve fast reading skill in elementary school students. This research uses method and model of classroom action research (PTK) Kemmis and Taggart model which carried out two cycles. The subjects of this study are the fourth grade students at SDN 2 Sukamanah Sukabumi Regency, amounted to 24 people. The data collection instruments used were tests and non-tests consisting of pretest and pos-test evaluation sheets, observation sheets, interview guides, field notes, and documentations. The results showed that in the first cycle showed fast reading skill of 4th grade students get a classical completeness of 46.6% this shows an increase of 41.81% of pretest results with 4.79% classical completeness. In cycle II shows that the fast reading skill acquires 100% classical completeness. This research concludes that through the application of Scramble method can improve fast reading skill in thematic learning at 4th grade student of SDN 2 Sukamanah Sukabumi Regency in academic year 2017/2018.
