Abstract
This research is motivated by the weak interpersonal intelligence of students so that the learning process is hampered because students find it difficult to organize a group, it is difficult to establish relationships and interact. This research is a Hopkins model class action research carried out in 2 cycles. The focus of the study was 28 fourth grade students at SDN 1 Selabintana, Sukabumi Regency. This study aims to (1) Describe the implementation of the Role playing model as an effort to improve the basic skills of students 'social intelligence, (2) Describe the improvement in the basic skills of students' social intelligence after the use of the Role playing model. This research was conducted in the even semester of the 2017/2018 academic year by using instruments on the observation sheet of students and teachers. The results showed that (1) The application of the Role model playing in thematic learning has a value of 86.52 with a very good category because all Role playing model stages are met, (2) Students' interpersonal intelligence increases using the Role playing method with an increase of 38%, a value that obtained by students is 75.68 included in the active category, with the achievement of all indicators of student interpersonal intelligence increases.
