Abstract

The purpose of this study was to describe the application of the make a match learning model to students' motivation of learning and describe the learning process of students through the make a match learning model on material struggle against invaders and the national movement of Indonesian in class V. With the type of research used is Research Classroom Action (CAR) design model Kemmis and Mc Taggart. This research was conducted in two cycles equipped with data collection in the form of observation sheets, field notes, tests, and questionnaires on students' learning motivation and documentation. Participants in this study were 21 grade V students. From the research conducted, it was obtained observations of teacher activities and student activities which showed that during the learning process there was an increase with the application of the Make a Match learning model to the learning motivation of students. In the first cycle, the results obtained with the criteria are quite good, and the second cycle has increased with good criteria. Learning motivation of students through the application of the make a match learning model experienced an increase from the results of the learning motivation questionnaire obtained in the first cycle with sufficient categories and experienced an increase in the second cycle in the good category.
