Abstract

The background of problem this research is the low basic ability of students’ social intelligence. As a result, the learning process is interrupted. The cause are the students difficulties for organizing a group, solving a problem, to respect of their friends, and to have lack of harmonious relationship. This is a classroom action with model used in this research is Hopkins. The participan of this research is the fourth grade of MI Cikaso Kecamatan Cireunghas Sukabumi. With 13 students as focus for this research. This research was conducted on the even semester of the academic year 2017/2018.. The result of this research shows that applying outdoor study method in thematic learning was achieved 83,26 which has good category because all steps of outdoor study method are carried out and the basic ability of students’ social intelligence in applying outdoor study has been reached 38% improvement.The students reached the criteria of active which all of the basic ability of social intelligence is improved in the value 75,19.
