Abstract
This study aims to describe the application of cooperative learning model type Think Pair Share to improve students' discussion skills during the learning process. The research method used is Classroom Action Research (PTK) with a cycle model developed by Kemmis and MC.Taggart consisting of four stages: planning, implementation, observation and reflection. The subjects of this study are students of grade IV-I SDN Suryakencana CBM Sukabumi with 36 students, consisting of 19 male students and 17 female students. Data collection using precycle discussion cycle sheets, cycles 1 and cycle 2, teacher and student observation sheets, field notes and documentation. The result of the research before being given the action on the skill of discussion to get the classical completeness equal to 47,50%. in cycle I showed the skill of discussion to get classical mastery of 66,74%. in cycle II shows the skill of discussion to get mastery equal to 86,18%. This classroom action research concludes that the application of Think Pair Share model can improve students' discussion skill in learning at SD Negeri Suryakencana CBM Sukabumi.
