Abstract

This research is entitled “Obsesi Cinta Tokoh Utama Pria Dalam Novel Half Girlfriend Karya Chetan Bhagat”. This research was conducted to describe love obsession of the main male character that is Madhav Jha. The method applied in the research was Qualitative which is described descriptively with psychology of literature approach. Data collection technique applied were observing and writing technique. Based on the result of the research there are three dimensions of representation of main male and female characters, such as physical, social, psychological. Love Obsession of main male character described by obsession and love theories. Love obsession which is experienced by the main male character that is Madhav Jha started when he fell in love at first sight towards Riya Somani, his basketball mate. Since they became friend, Madhav’s love even greater, which is in the end makes him obsessed with Riya’s love during seven years and makes him never give up to be with Riya.
