Abstract

One of the high jump sports goals is to get the highest jump as it passes the ruler with a certain height. Often there are errors when making a jump, at the time of the jump can not go beyond the pole ruler with a specified altitude. Therefore the development of limb power, posture when crossing the ruler, and the proper run prefix need to be developed in high jumpers especially in beginners. This study aims to determine whether there is a relationship between power limbs with high jump results straddle style students class VIIIA SMP Negeri 10 Sukabumi Lesson 2017/2018. This research uses correlational research type with Cross Sectional approach. Sample sampling in this study using the method of Total Sampling with a total sample of 32 people. Instrument used to obtain data: (1) Limb Power Test (X) using vertical jump test, (2) Straddle Style High Jump Test (Y) using High Skill Testing Test. Data processing using SPSS 16 with Chi Square method. The result of data processing got PValue equal to 0,003 (α = <0,05), then H0 refused and H1 accepted. This means that there is a significant relationship between power limbs with high jump style straddle on students of class VIIIA Junior High School 10 of Sukabumi.
