Abstract

This research was conducted with the aim of knowing the effect of the Jigsaw learning model assisted by the Powtoon web application on the abbility to listen to riview texts in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Purabaya. The method used is quantitive method with experimental type. The population in this study were all VIII grade students with a total of 134 students, including VIII A class of 34 students, VIII B class of 37 students, VIII C class of 32 students, and VIII D class of 31 students. The samples taken were class VIII A as the experimental class and class VIII B as the control class. The instrument used was a written test in the form of multiple choice with a total of 20 questions. The technique used to analyze the data is using the independent t-test formula, N-Gain formula, average formula and hypothesis testing. The result obtained in the experimental class had an average of 60,24 in the pretest activity and 77,14 in the posttest activity. While in the control class, the average value obtained in the pretest activity was 40,90 and the posttest was 55,45. This data then analyzed using the t test. Because t count > t table, there is an effect of using the Jigsaw learning model assisted by the Powtoon web application on the listening skills of class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Purabaya.
