Abstract

This study aims to determine the ability to think computationally in terms of high, medium, and low student learning independence. This type of research is a case study with a descriptive qualitative approach. This research was conducted at SMK Pembangunan Cibadak in class X OTKP. The research subjects consisted of 3 students from class X OTKP where each student represented each category of learning independence, namely: low, medium and high. Data collection techniques used are questionnaires, tests, interviews and documentation. The instruments in this study were a learning independence questionnaire, a computational thinking ability test and an interview guide. The data analysis technique used is data reduction, data presentation and conclusion. In this study the validity of the data used is technical triangulation. The results of this study are that students in the low learning independence category are only able to fulfill one indicator of computational thinking ability, namely at the decomposition stage. Students in the independent learning category are fulfilling two indicators of computational thinking skills, namely the decomposition and pattern recognition stages. While students with high learning independence category have fulfilled all the indicators, namely at the stages of decomposition, pattern recognition, algorithmic thinking and abstraction & generalization.
