Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a set of metabolic disorders characterized by damage to insulin work, insulin secretion, or both resulting in increased levels of glucose in the blood or hyperglycemia. Diabetes is also often called diabetes. Diabetes Mellitus Per Area of Sukabumi Regency in 2017 shows that there are 3 regions of Sukabumi Regency that have the highest cases of Diabetes Mellitus, namely Region I, Region IV and Region VI of a total of 9014 cases. Region I of Sukabumi Regency has 1235 cases out of a total population of 496,856 people. One of the non-pharmacological methods that is currently the choice of the community is complementary therapy. There are many types of complementary therapies, one of which is reflexology. Based on several research results, foot reflexology therapy is effective for controlling blood glucose in diabetic patients. This can be seen from a significant decrease in blood glucose levels in diabetics after foot reflexology. The writing of this scientific paper aims to control blood glucose in patients with type II diabetes mellitus problems. This method of writing scientific papers uses case studies. Foot reflexology therapy is carried out for 3 consecutive days once a day with a duration of 15-20 minutes. The results obtained after therapy there was a decrease in blood glucose from 300 mg / dL to 180 mg / dL. It can be concluded that there is an effect of foot reflexology therapy to control blood glucose.
