Abstract

Indonesia is a country that presents many natural beauty through mountains. Many mountains in Indonesia are used as a destination in climbing for natural activists. Currently climbing a mountain is not only done by groups who have a background of nature lovers, but many novice climbers who even knowledge and experience in climbing mountains are very lacking. Basarnas informed that there were 16 cases of climbers missing due to lost in 2018 and 15 cases in 2019 and the case continued to grow every year. There needs to be a solution that can overcome the problem. As for one of the solutions that can be done is by making a system that can inform directions and an alert system if the climber has come out of the hiking trail. By utilizing the Haversine method, the system can calculate the distance and radius in the hiking trail so that if the climber has come out of the predetermined radius, the system will display a danger warning that the climber has come out of the hiking trail. The application of the Haversine method on the system, because Haversine is considered to have a high level of accuracy compared to other methods that are appropriate in terms of distance calculation. The system that will be created is an Android application with the Kotlin programming language.
