Abstract

Since the establishment of the Covid-19 Pandemic in early 2020, within the scope of society there has been an increase in the number of divorces. The large number of employees who were laid off made this divorce rate increase drastically. The purpose of this study is to find out how effective the law used by BP4 is to prevent divorce during a pandemic and find out the driving and inhibiting factors of BP4 in preventing divorce during the Covid-19 Pandemic. The type of research in this study is Empirical Juridical, that in the search for data the necessary not only adheres to juridical aspects, but also adheres to the results of research and facts in the field. The juridical approach is carried out by examining legal aspects in the form of legal regulations related to the thesis on the Legal Effectiveness of the Marriage Development and Preservation Advisory Board (BP4) in preventing divorce during the Covid-19 pandemic. The empirical approach is used because supporting data obtained from the relevant institutions, namely BP4 KUA, Cikole District, Sukabumi City. The data found shows that the legal effectiveness of BP4 KUA Cikole District in preventing divorce during a pandemic is less effective because the divorce rate in the district is still high. The driving factor for BP4 in preventing divorce was with the BIMWIN and PUSAKA SAKINAH programs, but during the pandemic, the program became hampered due to the rules to reduce mobilization. Thus, it can be concluded that from the Effectiveness of the BP4 Law in the Cikole Kua, it is less effective, judging from the fact that not many people know about BP4 and its function as a mediator.
