Abstract

Hypertension is an increase in systolic blood pressure of more than 140 mmHg and diastolic blood pressure of more than 90 mmHg. Hypertension is a health problem in the world because it is a major risk factor for cardiovaskuler disease and stroke. Hypertension can be treated with pharmacological and non pharmacological therapy, namely celery. The study aims to determine the application of celery leaf decoction to reduce high blood pressure in hypertenson. This research method uses case studies. Researches applied celery leaf decoction 2 times a day for 3 consecutive days. Giving boiled celery leaves is done for 20 minutes in the afternoon. The results obtained after the application there is a decrease in blood pressure from 160/100 mmHg to 140/90 mmHg. It can be concluded that there is an effect from the stew of celery leaf stew to lower blood pressure.
