Abstract

Asthma is a chronic respiratory disease that marked by airflow obstruction, bronchial hyper-responsiveness, and underlying airway imflammation. Asthma can controlled by pharmacology and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the management of asthma by non-pharmacological way is by buteyko breathing technique. This research aims to determine the effectiveness of buteyko breathing technique in asthmatic patients against ineffective breathing partterns. The research method is using case study strategy. Researcher use buteyko breathing technique 3 times in one week and 2 times in one day that is morning and evening for 20 minutes. The results obtained after doing buteyko breathing technique there is a decrease in asthma recurrence in a week and can control when an asthma attack. Can be concluded that there is significant influence from the application of buteyko breathing technique in astmathic patients on ineffective breathing patterns.
