Abstract

Dysmenorrhea is a feeling of cramping in the uterine area or can be felt in the lower abdomen. This pain arises due to an imbalance of the hormone progesterone, causing lower abdominal cramps. Prevention can be done by doing yoga therapy. In Indonesia, women who experience dysmenorrhea reach 107,673 people during menstruation. Yoga can be used as a good intervention in dysmenorrheal patients to reduce stress and anxiety. Yoga can change the pattern of accepting pain into a phase that can be more calming so that the body can gradually recover from the pain. Regular movements in yoga can cause smooth blood circulation so that the pain that appears can subside and disappear. The purpose of this study was to provide nursing care with yoga therapy interventions to reduce pain in dysmenorrheal adolescents. The method used in this study is the selection of samples that match the criteria for the pain scale and pre-test and post-test. The data collection instrument used a questionnaire sheet to 10 respondents and chose 1 respondent according to the pain scale criteria. The results of this study decreased pain intensity after doing yoga therapy for dysmenorrhea 6 times for 2 days, in Ms. S pain decreased from a scale of 7 at the first meeting to a pain scale of 2 at the 6th meeting. Yoga therapy for dysmenorrhea was carried out consistently. The conclusion of this study is that there is an effect of yoga therapy on reducing pain in dysmenorrhea patients. Adolescent girls who experience dysmenorrhea should do dysmenorrhea yoga therapy to reduce dysmenorrhea pain.
