Abstract

High uric acid levels will cause an increase in uric acid crystals that are shaped like needles, especially in the joints which will cause pain. Uric acid can be controlled with pharmacological and non-pharmacological therapy. One of the management of gout with non-pharmacological therapy is by giving boiled water of bay leaves to relieve pain. The preparation of this scientific paper aims to provide an overview of family nursing care applications of giving boiled water of bay leaves to the acute pain of Ny. S in cirangkong downstream with urid acid, to determine the effectiveness of bay leaf decoction in the elderly in reducing pain intensity. The following research method uses a case study strategy study. The author performs therapy by giving boiled water of bay leaves 2 times a day for three consecutive days. The results obtained after doing therapy there is a decrease in pain intensity from 5 (1-10) to 2 (1-10). It can be concluded that there is a significant effect of giving boiled water of bay leaves on reducing pain intensity.
