Abstract

One of the cardiovascular diseases is hypertension. Hypertension is a serious problem in Indonesia and the world. Types of hypertension treatment can be done with pharmacological therapy and non-pharmacological therapy. For the management of hypertension with non - pharmacological therapy, namely acupressure therapy. Acupressure therapy is a form of physiology by pressing on certain body points. This study was conducted to determine whether there can be a decrease in blood pressure in patients with hypertension. In addition to lowering blood pressure, acupressure therapy is useful for improving blood circulation, reducing insomnia, reducing stress, and relaxing the body. This research method uses case studies. Researchers did acupressure therapy by pressing on 4 points of the body once a day for 3 days. This therapy is done for 10-15 seconds within 10 minutes. The results obtained after 3 days of therapy, there was a decrease in blood pressure from 170/86 to 160/80. So it can be concluded that acupressure therapy is effective for lowering blood pressure.
