Abstract

Diabetes mellitus is a heterogeneous gropu of disorders characterized by elevated blood sugar levels or scientifically called hyperglycemia. Diabetes mellitus can be controlled using pharmacological and non pharmacological therapy, one of the non pharmacological therapies is autogenic relaxation therapy. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of autogenic relaxation therapy in reducing blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus. This method uses a case study and the researcher performs autogenic relaxation therapy for 3 days by giving 2 times a day in the morning and evening. By checking blood sugar levels before and after therapy. The results obtained after administration of autogenic relaxation therapy were from 211 mg/dL to 172 mg/dL. It can be concluded that there is an effect of giving autogenic relaxation therapy on reducing blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus.
