Abstract
Background: Menstruation is one of the signs of adolescent girls experiencing puberty. Menstruation often causes abdominal pain, this pain is called dysmenorrhea. This can reduce the concentration of young women's learning so that dysmenorrhea needs to be overcome. There are 2 ways to overcome dysmenorrhea, namely pharmacological (using drugs) and non-pharmacological, one of which is warm compresses. The prevalence of dysmenorrhea is very high, about 50% of adolescent girls in Indonesia, the incidence of dysmenorrhea consists of 54.89% primary dysmenorrhea and 9.36% secondary dysmenorrhea. Many young women do not attend school because of dysmenorrhea. Purpose of Writing: Able to perform and apply nursing care using non-pharmacological techniques (warm water compresses). Data collection method: The method of compiling this scientific paper is by conducting direct observations and interviews by studying journals and reference books about dysmenorrhea pain associated with giving warm compresses. Application Results: There was a significant change in the pain of dysmenorrhea in adolescent girls with the application of warm compresses. Dysmenorrhea pain has been shown to reduce dysmenorrhea pain in adolescent girls. The problem was solved by treating dysmenorrhea pain using nonpharmacological techniques (warm compresses) for 2 treatments. Suggestion: Therefore, it is recommended to health workers with warm compresses as a nonpharmacological alternative to reduce dysmenorrhea pain.
