Abstract

Diabetes Mellitus is a disease characterized by hyperglycemia and disturbances of carbohydrate, fat, and protein metabolism associated with absolute or relative lack of work or insulin secretion. Symptoms that people with diabetes complain about are polydipsia, polyuria, polyphagia, weight loss, and tingling. On of the treatments is using non-pharmacological therapy, one of which is progressive muscle relaxation therapy. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to reduce the level of anxiety in type 2 diabetes patients. The method of writing this scientific paper uses case studies. Progressive muscle therapy is carried out for 4 consecutive days. This therapy was carried out for 15 minutes at each meeting. The results obtained after doing progressive muscle relaxation therapy there is a decrease in anxiety levels from 24 to 18. It can be concluded that there is an effect of giving progressive muscle relaxation therapy on the level of anxiety in type 2 diabetes patients.
