Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic that has occurred throughout the world has made many changesoccur in all organisms in cities, especially in Indonesia. Children are one of the groups that are vulnerable to being exposed to or infected with COVID-19. Data regarding casesof children who were confirmed to be COVID-19 between March and December 2020 were37,760 and in West Java around 912 children were confirmed to be COVID-19. Health protocols were quickly implemented to break the chain of spread of COVID-19 such as health campaigns, the use of protective attributes, and distance learning that was implemented so that the government was overwhelmed in terms of providing knowledge tothe community, especially providing knowledge to pre-school age children about the dangers of a pandemic and the importance of prevention. COVID-19. The purpose of this case study is to provide knowledge about the prevention of COVID-19 in pre-school age children (3-6 years) using audio-visual media applications. This research method iscarried out by means of observation and interviews. The implementation involved 1 child respondent, namely a 5-year-old child who was accompanied by a mother including a family who was given health education due to lack of knowledge. The action taken is to apply audio-visual media in the form of animated videos. Conducted in 1 cycle with 3 meetings. The results of the study showed that clients who initially did not understand the COVID-19 pandemic and how to prevent it, understood. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of audio-visual media can be a material for health educationto overcome the lack of knowledge in children. Suggestions are to be able to increase knowledge and insight regarding the prevention of covid-19 in preschool age children andcontrol a clean and healthy lifestyle.
