Abstract
Non-comunicable diseases or (PTM) are diseases that cannot be transmitted from person to person, whose development runs slowly over a long period of time (Chronic). One of the non-communicable diseases or (PTM) experienced is diabetes mellitus type II, which is a condition in which blood sugar in the body is not controlled due to impaired sensitivity of pancreatic B cells to produce the hormone insulin which acts as a controller of blood sugar levels in the body. Type II diabetes mellitus known as noninsulin dependent diabetes mellitus (NIDDM) is diabetes in which the insulin hormone does not function properly in the body, this is caused by various possibilities. The cause of type II diabetes mellitus occurs because the body cannot use insulin effectively. For people with type II diabetes only exercise and proper diet are recommendend to keep blood sugar levels normal. One of the management of type II diabetes mellitus with non-pharmacological therapy is foot reflexology therapy, foot reflexology therapy is an alternative treatment approach and can help improve blood circulation in the feet and is free of sugar that carries oxygen and nutrients. The purpose of writing this scientific paper is to control blood glucose in patients with type II diabetes. This scientific paper writing method uses case studies. Foot reflexology theraphy is carried out for three consecutive days once a day with a duration of 15-20 minutes. The results obtained after doing theraphy to lower blood glucose from 300 mg/dL to 180 mg/dL. It can be said that there is an effect of foot reflexology therapy to control blood glucose.
