Abstract

Stroke is a condition that occurs when the blood supply to the brain is interrupted due to blockage or rupture of a blood vessel in the brain with symptoms such as shalore, difficulty moving the upper and lower extremities, limb weakness and decreased muscle strength. The author's aim is to apply passive and active nonpharmacological Range of Motion (ROM) therapy to stroke clients with impaired physical mobility, namely difficulty moving the left hand and leg. The author uses this research method, namely using a descriptive method with a case study approach, namely 1 stroke client and applying passive and active range of motion (ROM) therapy. The results showed that the client's data was weak, weak and stiff to move the left hand and leg, BP 180/100 mm/Hg and decreased extremity muscle strength. Nursing diagnoses of physical mobility disorders, and nursing interventions provided were passive and active non-pharmacological range of motion (ROM) therapy for 3 meetings and carried out every day with the help of the client's wife, which aims to increase extremity muscle strength and mobilization of the client. Evaluation after 3 meetings giving the intervention the client can move his hands and feet. In the left upper and lower extremities, which were previously weak and stiff when moved, they become lighter and can be moved to perform active ROM. Conclusions after being given passive ROM exercises, stroke patients experienced an increase in muscle strength in both extremities.
